Junetide
“June-tide”
The lands now
Flowing with the rich cloak
Of emerald and clover
And the occasional bloom
Of violet and daffodil.
A summer’s whisper
Upon the air
Awakens the sleeping faeries
With their thrumming wings a glow
Oberon sits within the pansies
Weaving them for a crown
For his beloved
Still dancing in the newly blessed wood
With her court of ladies adorned in lilac
And feathers of bluebirds
She’ll return at sunset for sure
To share the sweet nectar
Of the sun’s golden rays
And early summer’s fruit
Still lingering with life from the vine
And where is Pan?
Ah, he is playing sweetly in lush groves
With his silver flute invoking mischief
To creature near and far
He sits upon soft heather
Eagle feather woven through sable locks
Smiling in-between melodies
To a wandering dove
Ah June!
With your magic woven sweet,
Gentle kisses upon both house and home
You come bursting with life.
Welcoming all into your radiant arms
Of peerless blue skies
